The New York Times bestselling author of Armed Madhouse offers a globetrotting, Sam Spade-style investigation that blows the lid off the oil industry, the banking industry, and the governmental agencies that aren't regulating either.

This is the story of the corporate vultures that feed on the weak and ruin our planet in the process-a story that spans the globe and decades.

For Vultures' Picnic, investigative journalist Greg Palast has spent his career uncovering the connection between the world of energy (read: oil) and finance. He's built a team that reads like a casting call for a Hollywood thriller-a Swiss multilingual investigator, a punk journalist, and a gonzo cameraman-to reveal how environmental disasters like the Gulf oil spill, the Exxon Valdez, and lesser-known tragedies such as Tatitlek and Torrey Canyon are caused by corporate corruption, failed legislation, and, most interestingly, veiled connections between the billionaires of financial industry and energy titans. Palast shows how the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, World Trade Organization, and Central Banks act as puppets and bandits for Big Oil.

With Palast at the center of an investigation that takes us from the Arctic to Africa to the Amazon, Vultures' Picnic shows how the big powers in the money and oil game slip the bonds of regulation over and over again, and simply destroy the rules that they themselves can't write-and take advantage of nations and everyday people in the process.

Loved the show. Enjoyed the allusions to piracy….and the obvious relation to what is going on today. I also perked up when Jack recommended doing just the opposite of whatever the government tells us to do. I already do that in so many areas. Get my mmunizations? Ha – I spit on your shoes. Use my “smart” card for every purchase (since it’s for for my “conveeeeenience”)? Hell, no – I’m using cash for as long as I still have any.

Great show. I don’t believe we were successful in stopping the war in Syria because the Syrian people have already been at war, with countless dead, over 2 million homeless on the border of Lebanon and another 4 million displaced from their homes and businesses without any real declaration of war. Just the fear that the US was going to bomb the crap out of them was enough for millions to try and escape the country not to mention the devastation inflicted upon them by CIA controlled rebels. The whole peace negotiation is to make Putin, a KGB student of Gorbachev, look good, and continue merging the Soviet system with the American system all under the illusion that he and the UN are bringing us closer to peace. It will also make Obama look better to his followers if we don’t “officially” start a war since destroying that country is what they have already accomplished. Smoke and mirrors as always. Unfortunately, the Syrian people have already lost and the global rulers have won. As the big new br.(azin)ski (nazi brother) stated, it’s easier to kill a million people than control them (I would say “bother” to control them-why waste energy on useless eaters).
