    Like you, I no longer celebrate Thanksgiving – I can’t get the image out of my head of the Pilgrim (oh-so-Christian) men kicking Sqanto’s head around in the snow on the common. Ugh. It’s hard being a Debbie-Downer, but when people bubble “Happy Thanksgiving” at me, I just have to say that I have Native American friends, so I don’t celebrate the holiday.

    that’s a good answer. I opted out (family too) of all holidays years ago. First, I’m not participating in the program. Save time, stress, money too and just get to enjoy my day like any other. I highly suggest people have that “talk” with their families.
