I was kind of surprised that Trump made his remark about Elizabeth Warren (even though a lot of his comments are truly m0eant to be funny since he clearly fancies himself to be a stand-up comic). He had the perfect opportunity to claim that he is 1/8th Cherokee (doesn’t everybody make that claim when they are pandering to an audience?) to win over the Native American voters. I mean, even though that would be a lie (er, I mean, a “willful misstatement,” he could have capitalized on it – and it would have taken months to call him on it – long past the election.. Missed opportunity.
